Conrad Storad Author Visit - August 29

Join us for a visit from Barberton native Conrad Storad as he reads from his new book The Bat Book: Afraid of a Bat?  What's Up with That?  A book signing will follow this event.  Author Conrad Storad

Little Boy Bat lives under the Congress Avenue Bridge in Austin, Texas. One day he overhears some human kids saying mean, nasty things about bats. “Bats are ugly. Bats are weird. Bats are SCARY!” Their words make him feel very sad. L.B has a long talk with his parents. L.B. decides to write and illustrate a book so that he can teach those human kids some facts and the truth about bats. The Bat Book is his creation. It includes important lessons for all of us. Most important, bats are NOT scary!

Vellamo released their first album in early 2013. The album was engineered and co-produced by Ken Anderson at his home studio called Song Catcher Recording, in Vermont, US. This renowned folk musician (Hungrytown) also plays drum and bass tracks on the album. The tone of the album is clear and bright, respectful of tradition yet sounding fresh. It features both original and traditional songs.
