Support Your Library
The Barberton Public Library first opened its doors on April 7, 1903, with a gift of 2,400 books from O.C. Barber and an additional 1,000 books donated by the City of Barberton and local residents. The library was originally located on the second floor of the Whigam and Schubert Building on Tuscarawas Avenue. Today, this school district library is located on West Park Avenue, directly across from Lake Anna, and proudly serves the community with a dynamic collection as well as weekly programs for children and families, teens, and adults. Wi-fi service is available throughout the building. For consumer health information, the library partners with Summa Health System to operate a branch located on the first floor of Barberton Hospital.
